“What is the Appropriate Style and Design for the Reunified Berlin” by Kristy Kropat, 2005
Here’s what our clients have to say…

“I have known Kristy for many years and had been dreaming of the day she would be able to remodel my California home. When she moved to Germany I was worried I may have to find a local designer but Kristy was up for the cross Atlantic design challenge! Yes, she remodeled my home from Berlin! One of the reasons this worked is that Kristy is a great listener. During our many phone conversations she listened to my ideas and needs for the remodel and pushed my vision even further. I couldn’t be happier with the result.
Kristy has impeccable taste and guided me toward resources I would have never known about. She knows where to find the right products, materials, and professionals. The skilled workers and contractors she works with are first rate and artists at their craft. They were easy to work with and when issues or questions came up Kristy was accessible and quickly resolved them.
Kristy is a truly gifted interior designer who has helped create our dream home.”
“Kristy helped us renovating our living room as well as a kids room incl installation of a loft bed. Both projects were organized and executed very professionally and it was a pleasure working with Kristy. I also love her Berlin patterns and fabrics!”

Berlin, Germany
“I hired Kristy and her colleagues to install large fabric panels in our living room to serve as a wall covering for a wall we use as a movie screen. We chose Kristy because we wanted our home to reflect the city by using the Berlin-inspired fabrics she designed. In addition to the panels, we ordered several pillows to bring a couple rooms together - and leveraged the installer to hang art/decor throughout the house. Kristy is easy to work with, responsive, and professional in her attention to detail. She and her team encountered and professionally resolved minor setbacks during the installation. Kristy did not consider the job done until everything was completed to her (and my) high standard. We are very happy with the striking result of this project.”
“Krist[y] Kropat is an intelligent, experienced designer with a unique, unexpected and colorful style. She brings enthusiasm, creativity, energy and professionalism to every project. Kropat Interior Design is an easy Five Stars!”
“We recently completed the renovation of our kitchen. This was our second renovation project we did with Kristy, our first being our master suite and bathroom. Since completing our first project, Kristy had relocated to San Francisco so we asked her if she would be willing to work with us remotely. We had previously developed an excellent relationship with Kristy, both working, and we had become friends, so we thought this would work for us. We sent Kristy photos of our space along with some measurements. She sketched up some initial ideas which we discussed and modified over several iterations. Kristy gave us some excellent ideas about space utilization and functional layout. Toward the end of the design phase, Kristy came to our home and we verified our design and selected our materials over a marathon session, she was a trooper! The final result was amazing, exceeding our expectations! Our new space is just fantastic and really reflects the way we live. We loved working with Kristy, again!”
“Kristy Kropat is one of the most innovative, cutting edge designers I have ever worked with. Her designs tend to use bold color choices and the latest products. She is never afraid to try something that has not been done before. I marvel at her creative solutions to design problems, and have enjoyed seeing many of her custom furniture designs come to life. Her previous training as an engineer is reflected in her attention to detail to ensure every design functions as beautifully as it looks.”
“Kristy helped us with designing our living room fireplace and niche shelves. She has impeccable taste, finding the perfect glass tile for our modern fireplace and media shelves that are beautiful and functional. We can't wait to work with Kristy again!”
“Kristy worked with my husband and I on a major remodel that included our master bathroom, kitchen and great room. We wanted the bathroom to focus on safety so we could "age in place" complete with a walk-in shower and accessible via wheelchair if needed. We also wanted the new kitchen and great room to be a well functioning and beautiful space with a coastal feel. The remodel would have been good without her, but came out spectacular because of her great ideas and attention to detail. Kristy's personal style is very contemporary, whereas ours is more transitional. She was able to respect our design ideas but bring new and fresh ideas that fit our vision. The bathroom was a very technical project and because of her excellent design skills we were able to pack a lot into a fairly small space. The kitchen is gorgeous and everyone comments on our spectacular open space and grand fireplace.”
