Black & White with a pop of sunshine.
This former East Berlin Altbau apartment was built in 1896. It had been a doctor’s office for 50 years and recently renovated back to a residential home. The kitchen was in the front for access to the balcony. The view of the yellow U-Bahn train became inspiration for the hood color and draws your eye up to the original ceiling details, bringing “sunshine” into many gray Berlin days. The classic black and white design harmonizes with the architecture with a modern flair. The dimensional backsplash tile pays homage to the flowered carvings in the grand doors and original ceiling molding. (before photos)
